Hello, Everyone!
Let me re-introduce myself.
My name is Niko Goutakolis, and now I’m 24 years old. Eleven years ago, I thought it was a novelty to share my age with everyone (13, for those counting at home) when I wrote this very blog.
The first iteration of this blog was called Pepper: MLB Blog, with my two friends Borja and Pablo. We even created a webshow called The Pepper Show, which we did over two seasons. In the middle of the 2014 season, I made a pivot to call this the Pepper Mets Blog. In 2015, we changed the name to MetsPlus, and even got the domain MetsPlus.com.
In 2018, I enrolled in college, and this blog started to slow, by 2020, when the pandemic hit, I was working full time and doing college on-line, so with little to talk about, this blog basically became dormant.
I would check in once in a while…. I made a huge mistake by letting the MetsPlus.com domain lapse (we’re now going to be using MetsPlus.blog) and I still don’t think this blog is particularly interesting, but since we have 750,000 all time views and thousands of posts, it’s a very interesting look at the Mets from my teenage years, and my lack of grammatical oversight.
I hope that those of you who stumble upon this website enjoy what you see. I’m still eager to do something Mets or Baseball related, but perhaps not as a freelancer. I’ve always wanted to work in baseball, and at a certain point, that’s something I’d like to entertain.
For now, Let’s Go Mets! I just came back from the game last night, and we have another game at 1pm today…..
