After deGrom threw 7 shutout innings, Lucas Duda homered , to expand a 2-0 Mets lead into 4-0. David Wright, who scored on the Duda shot, went 3-4, the ninth time Wright has had a three hit performance this year. Wright also made a terrific defensive play in the 8th, but Duda couldn’t handle an off-balanced throw by David Wright. Jacob deGrom collected his first win of his young career. This has ended up a great week for Mets pitching, all coming up to the Jon Niese series finale tomorrow. deGrom ‘s next game will be next Friday in the Steel city.
